Abstract Submission

The programme committee warmly invites you to submit an abstract for the forthcoming 2022 SAMS Congress, hosted by Stellenbosch University, 6-8 December 2022.

Delegates have the option of presenting a talk and/or a poster (further details below). In either instance, abstracts should be submitted in LaTeX format using the template. Abstracts will be assessed based on background, methodology, value proposition, challenges, and benefits. Please adhere to the 300 word limit and indicate the appropriate SAMS subject classification.

Talks

Contributed talks will be presented in one of five parallel sessions in 25-30 minute slots (TBC). The expectation is that talks will be presented in-person. There are a limited number of talk slots available, and these will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis. The programme committee therefore encourages delegates to submit abstracts sooner rather than later.

Special sessions

If your abstract falls into one of the special sessions listed here, please indicate as such when you submit. There will be a general session for talks that do not belong to any of the areas listed above.

Abstracts

The online abstract submission portal will be open soon. Abstracts should be submitted in LaTeX format using this template: abstract.tex.

Posters

Delegates wishing to present a poster, rather than a talk, should follow the same procedure as above but select the poster option when submitting their abstract.

Poster authors with accepted abstracts must provide their own printed poster in hard copy (size A0, 841 x 1189 mm or 33.1 x 46.8 inches) in portrait orientation and a digital copy (high resolution PDF document) for display on the conference's virtual platform.

  • Poster abstract submission deadline: 01/09/2022
